fashionAccording to Digvijay Singh (exclusive fashion designer for Bhusattva), the collection this year had 100 per cent organic cotton blended with natural fibers like cruelty-free silks, bamboos, flex, banana fibre and more. The unisex collection showcased in soft shades of yellow, green, purple, browns, grey, ash and wax all coloured with herbal dyes. This was the consecutive second season, when the brand was showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week.

With an interesting mix of tradition meeting modernity, models were sporting white cotton satin shirt with black buttons and kora silk patiala salwars, the grey tie-up shirt with black piping and twill tussar, brown cruelty free silk pleated kurta with slit sleeves and leaf print herbal dyed churidars and the wrap kurta with slim fit trousers.

Bhusattva, a brand owned by Rising Tradelink Limited also launched an accessory line this year with shoes and mojdis made from jute with herbal dyed on it and caps made from organic herbal dyed fabrics. Says actor Shreyas Talpade, who walked the ramp for the first time for Bhusattva, “I feel like I am wearing my own skin. These garments are very comfortable.”

Keeping with the tradition and with a view to bringing awareness, organic fabrics and natural fibres like cruelty-free silks, were procured from across India. Jainam Kumarpal, Director of Rising Tradelink Limited, had a vision to make the best sustainable use of the natural resources of India’s heritage and that is the philosophy behind this brand. He says, “We had an extremely good response from buyers across the globe. The collection has been highly appreciated by our customers, buyers and spectators nationally and internationally.”

Says Shriya Kishore, Pantaloon Femina Ms. India Earth 2009 who also took pride in walking the ramp for Bhusattva. She said, “I was elated with the association and believe that Digvijay Singh and Bhusattva have done very well to take up a challenge to come out with a unisex line. This is more important when most designers are working towards glamourising each of their garments and thus using synthetic fabric for the looks.”
Bhusattva brand is available at all leading multi designer stores across India.
